Difference Between Car Wax And Car Polish

Most of you like to show off your prized possession to everyone. As time progresses it becomes dirty and you can notice small imperfections on your car which are the gradual process of your car getting old. This is the time you need to use a car wax or polish. Most car owners are confused which is the better product to use and few feel that both products mean the same. Let’s look at the key difference between the two products.

Car polish is not same as car wax polish. It is actually the opposite. It is a rough material that is used to remove top layer of protection on your car. The work of the polish is very fine and gentle that it even does not destroy your paint. This material is generally used to smooth the outer surface and have a gloss look. The new versions of polish are having materials in which the abrasive material decreases in size with progressive uses. The cleanup after polish is also minimal as it vanishes into the paint. The modern versions contain oils which could give the desired shine on car surfaces.

Car wax purpose is to leave a layer of protective material on car’s surface. The layer gives your vehicle a good look that protects from all sorts of minor damage. Most type of car wax protects the cars from UV rays too. The common variety used by car owners is carnauba or ‘brazil wax’. This natural wax has effective properties which make the job perfect. This wax does not dissolve in water; this advantage helps cars to retain wax even during heavy rains. The melting point of ‘brazil wax’ is 1800F, which makes it best even at high temperatures during summer.

Depending up on the use, you can select car wax or polish to retain car’s original look.
